= the career batting average of one Brian Schneider - the man who hit a 2-run double to give Kolb Atlanta's first blown save of the season. Kolb managed to waste an excellent start by Tim Hudson who limited the Nats to a solo homer over eight innings. I'm glad Smoltz is starting again, but if Kolb doesn't get these 2-run save opportunities (especially against a team like Washington) it's gonna be a long season full of ulcer-inducing ninth innings.

Did you watch that Astros/Braves game tonight? What a great game. Clemens and Hudson combined for 16 innings, 17 strikeouts, only 2 walks, and zero runs. Incredible.

And I'm sure you're happy that the Braves finally won it in the 12th, too.

I'm ecstatic that Mulder finally had a great outing for the Cardinals. Now if only he can keep it up the rest of the year and Morris can match his performance tomorrow night.

Yep, it was a fantastic game, though frustrating at times. It would be nice to plate a run during the first nine innings of a game sometime soon. I'll be counting two extra wins for Hudson at the end of the year.

All our starters are looking pretty sharp - Smoltz has bounced back pretty well from opening day, Hampton is having a first half (so far) that's more in line with his second halves of seasons past, Hudson is an early pick for the Cy, Horatio's got nasty stuff and will be awesome if he can start going deeper than 5.1 innings - even Thompson has a 6.2 K/9 ratio and a sub-4 ERA - not bad for your #4 starter. Now if we can just score some runs....
