Smoltz vs. Mulder

ESPN.com - MLB - Preview - Braves at Cardinals. Big game tonight. Debatably a preview of the NLCS.

If this was a preview of the NLCS, I say bring on the postseason!

Of course, the extra six runs after Smoltz left were kind of piling on, but the Braves did score twice in the top of the 9th before Eldred got the last out.

The next two games should be pretty good, though I forget who's pitching on Saturday. I know it's Sosa and Carpenter on Sunday, though. (And why this game isn't the ESPN Sunday night game is beyond me. Who the hell wants to see the Mets and Cubs? Feh.)

Um...maybe this afternoon's game will be a better game, and not so much of a blowout one way or the other.

Bizarre series. Two blowouts, then a weird pitching duel ending with Eck's grand slam? Just wierd.

Yeah, I went to a movie, and before I left, the Braves were still up 2-0 in the 7th. Then I checked my phone and saw the Cards won 5-3, and when I got home I found out it was on a slam by Eckstein, of all people.

Very bizarre indeed.

Not sure who's gonna win the wild card in the NL, but I'm fairly certain that the Cards and Braves are going to meet once again in the postseason.
